Travelling by bus and rail to the Edersee
What's new about bus and rail?
The north Hessian Verkehrsverbund informs about changes and news. To have a better connection to the Edertalsperre at Hemfurth the bus line 510 (Bad Wildungen-Korbach-Medebach)will be changed from April 1, until October 31, 2011. During this time the bus drives every two hours between Affoldern and Waldeck along the Ederseerandstreet. Therefore there will be two additional stops at the "Café Zündstoff" and at the Ederseerandstreet: „Zündstoff“ and „Ederseerandstraße“. Together with the already existing stops „Forstamt“, „Staumauer Ostseite“and „Bergseilbahn“ there will be now 5 stops along the lake Affoldern and the Edersee. Between November and March, the bus line will lead over Buhlen.
Due to the new bus line Buhlen and Waldeck will have limited bus transfers during the summer. For the rail network there will be changes as well: on Saturdays they will offer more runs between Korbach and Kassel. The departures of the R4 will be in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe until 6 pm, in Korbach until 4 pm hourly. Later the R4 runs every second hour. On the rail track Marburg-Frankenberg as well as Wabern-Bad Wildungen the train stops in Burgwald-Wiesenfeld, Wabern-Zennern, Fritzlar-Mandern and Bad Wildungen-Ungedanken only on demand. Therefore delays may be compensated.
